Noodle on "Autumn Leaves" Changes

It's fall. The leaves fell by our windows. And it's time for the digital piano to retire back to its place in the basement. So, as a deeply sloppy ode to autumn, and a gift to Courtney (so she needn't tolerate this noodly nonsense from me every time a show cuts to commercial), a little improvisation that begins on the changes to "Autumn Leaves".

  1. Wonderful, Ethan. You've still got it! It has a beautifully introspective quality to it, very tender, yet totally in your control. You sound like a professional; it really has that element of mastery to it. One of my favorites of your improvs - perhaps my absolute favorite!

  2. Daddy playing the piano in the bedroom. I *like* Daddy! Do you think that thing there is a monster? (pointing to the tuxedo hanging on the wall.) Mama, if you were sleeping and somebody started playing the piano, you would WAKE UP.
